Thanksgiving in Atlanta
joi, 27 mai 2010
When I first met Lana in 1985 she wanted to be a missionary to England. Well, it took 25 years but she did make it to England, but as a missionary in Romania! For our 22nd anniversary I was able to take Lana to London for a week. A friend of ours Doug McMasters is a pastor in London and he was kind enough to put us up for a week. Also, Elena, a young lady who lived in our house for six years in Romania now lives in London. Her and her husband Marcel picked us up from the airport.
It was so interesting to visit many historical sites, museums and downtown London. Doug took us one day to Oxford and to the home and garden of CS Lewis. We were very thankful for the time together and the opportunity to visit such a historical city, especially one that has many Christian historical roots.

Birthday
Yesterday I turned 44. For some of you that seems old for some of you it seems young, but indifferent of the age, I was reminded of the responsibility I have to those I ministry. Our church members made me a cake with a pastor and his sheep on the top of it. They did this on their own and surprised me at home, with of course with the help of my daughters. The cake was very creative and it also conveyed a powerful message, the responsibility I have to those around me. It was a message that provokes me to be a better husband, father, pastor and friend. After 44 years, the greatest satisfaction in life is the influence I have had on those around me.
To Him be the glory

Winter has it left us?
A week ago we we were digging out of yet another snow storm. Fortunately the snow has melted and we have had three days of sun! We are excited for spring to come, though it is still cold.
We had the opportunity to leave for three weeks to the mountains. A missionary friend of mine allowed us to stay in his house in Brasov. We were able to visit some of the churches that other missionaries had started that are now pastored by Romania pastors. If was a great privilege to be with Johnny, who is one of our own who now pastors in Feldioara Romania near Brasov. I was able to preach for him two Sundays.
It is nice to get away, but the girls where glad to be in their own church on Sunday. We had great services both in the am and pm with visitors both services. We had another Korean couple visit our church who work at the shipyard in Mangalia.
Pray for a man named Florin, who came for the first time Sunday night. During the service he had to go to the back because he was crying. He had heard about the Lord and had been to church when he was young, but turned away from God. Pray that he will have the faith and God will give him the grace to turn to God with his whole heart.
